Keeping Bathrooms Warm Without Blinding the Kids
When you’re heating a bathroom—especially one where there are babies or toddlers around—you can’t just throw a high-wattage heater in the room and hope for the best. You need heat that feels great on the skin but doesn’t hurt the eyes. It’s a tricky balance. The light problem Most standard infrared lamps are way too bright. They pump out visible light and UV rays that can really irritate sensitive eyes. Nobody wants a heater that feels like a spotlight in a police interrogation. To fix this, we use special quartz coatings. Think of them as a shield. They block out those harsh blue peaks and UV rays but let the cozy, long-wave heat slide right through. You get all the warmth, but the light stays soft and gentle. No blinding glare. Dealing with the steam Bathrooms are wet. Really wet. That’s why we build these to IPX4 standards. In plain English? It means the unit can take splashes from any direction without freaking out. We use heavy-duty gaskets and seals around the sockets and wiring so moisture can’t sneak in. If you skip those seals, the humidity just eats away at the contacts. Then, your heater burns out way sooner than it should. Not a great look. The trade-off Now, here’s the thing. Those eye-safe filters do take a small bite out of the raw heat efficiency. You lose a tiny bit of energy to the filter. But we’ve found a workaround. We tweaked the filament geometry to keep the heat dense and powerful without making the lamp any bigger. It still hits the spot. Just make sure your bathroom ventilation is working properly, since these units concentrate a lot of heat in one small area to make up for the filter.
