A quick look under the hood: power, voltage, and size
Typically, these heaters run on 400V and pack about 2500W of power. Choosing 400V keeps the current lower, which means you can use smaller wiring and avoid voltage drop over the line. The 300mm tube length is a smart trade-off. It gives you enough radiant surface to cover the width of a mantle, but stays small enough to slip into tight spots. So you get the heat you need without having to redesign the whole fireplace.
What’s inside: halogen, quartz, and a solid connection
The heart is a quartz envelope with a halogen fill. Quartz handles rapid heating and cooling without cracking, and the halogen cycle keeps the filament stable. That means no blackening, and the brightness stays consistent over time. Then there’s the R7s base. It’s the practical choice—a solid, two-point connection that can take the heat and vibration of repeated firing cycles. It just clicks right into the sockets you already use in these assemblies.
Installing it and what to expect in the real world
On the job, you wire this thing up fast. The compact shape and standard connector mean fewer brackets and less messing around with terminal blocks. You get heat that turns on predictably, runs reliably, and is easy to service. Here’s the trade-off: 2500W at 400V creates a lot of heat density. Your housing and nearby wiring need proper thermal clearance and cooling. If you don’t manage airflow, you’ll shorten the component’s life and risk overheating insulation nearby.
